The residence of Professor Aldric Venn and the final refuge of the Reclaimer’s Circle — a three-story brownstone deep in the Alchemist Parish of Charterhall, set in a narrow row of near-identical townhomes. It has a peaked roof rather than a flat one, no windows on the ground floor, and windows only on the second and third stories facing the street; its rear and sides share walls with neighboring brownstones. The upper floor holds a master suite and an adjoining room set up as a false nursery, along with several smaller bedrooms and a plumbed bathroom.
- Traced by the Old Town Echoes with the help of a ghost lingering in a nearby Camden Street alley, who named it the house Venn’s people never left unattended. A rifle shot fired from a third-floor window nearly killed Watcher as the crew scouted it. Session 12
- Infiltrated from the roof, where a ghost echo of a long-vanished rooftop terrace let the crew pass into the attic. They gassed the household, killed Aldric Venn in the master bed, freed a captive girl held in the nursery, and looted his private trophy room of antique statuary — recovering a steel brooch and a radiant sage bundle — before escaping back over the rooftops. Session 12
- The title was traced by Watcher through Alistair Crowe. The house stands in Aldric Venn’s name; Venn has no next of kin on any record; and although the Spirit Wardens have collected and boiled his body, no one has yet registered his death at the courthouse. The moment someone does, the property goes to probate and to auction, and Malus Thorne — out of Iron Hook in early February — may hold a claim a court would hear. The only practical route to owning it is to alter the courthouse records outright or to produce a convenient will, either of which could be contested. Session 13
- Should the Old Town Echoes gain legal title, the house would serve them as a gambling den or an interrogation chamber. Session 13
