Mistress Ash is a non-feral spirit trapped in a statue. Unlike other bottled spirits, she seems to have agency, perception, and the ability to influence the outside world. She has granted the Old Town Echoes the ability to see and traverse architectural ghost echoes.
Research into Imperial archives discovered a Lady Galina Ash - an accomplished sparkcraft artisan and Whisper - married to Lord Carlo Ash - the Imperial governor of Bright Harbor, Iruvia. Galina, Carlo, and their two children, Inej and Nadeem, were murdered in their home in the Imperial Year 762. The perpetrators of the assassination, if known, are not available in the Duskvol archives.
Mistress Ash has gaps in her memory, notably about the nature of her death and how she ended up imbued into the statue.
- Spoke into the minds of the whole crew at once for the first time in months, unprompted, to volunteer what she knew of the Kilgrave line: that Balon Kilgrave is a middling sparkwright, that his grandfather Stefan Kilgrave was a brilliant one, and that the hand Stefan built for the Lady Kilgrave is very likely still in the house and would be of considerable use to Nyx.
