On September 23rd, wy602, a series of well-coordinated attacks attributed to the Sons of the Reach ignited a new war of secession in The Reach.
The attack exploited code inserted into the Sierra version of the WDF Naval Operating System in February of wy602 and allowed someone aboard the ship to take complete control of the vessel and bypass safeguards. This facilitated the theft of fifty destroyer-class warships and the destruction of WDF Arnold Whistler at Foxglove.
