The crew receives word that the Skavs, a rival gang in Crow's Foot, had a crew in the Devereux estate when the Jacks detonated it and are looking for revenge. They've sent a gang of toughs led by a Skav lieutenant named Blake to take over a tavern and neighboring brothel currently under protection of the Jacks. Jules, Basran, Rowan, and Veyra respond. Verya takes position atop the brownstone across the street and takes stock, while Jules finds a regular at the brothel named Sharky. They ascertain that the Skavs have posted nearly a dozen men in the tavern and keep about four or five next door in the brothel. The crew hatches a plan to try to eliminate Blake. Veyra uses her pet's remote seeing to monitor the brothel for Blake, and once he arrives, Jules enters through the back door and Rowan enters the crawlspace under the first floor. Meanwhile, Basran attempts to bottle up and distract the men in the tavern. Between Jules and Rowan, they manage to close off the brothel from the tavern, incapacitate Blake, and kill the other men. Basran, under cover from Veyra, uses a combination of incapacitating drugs and grenades to overcome the incredible odds at the tavern, causing quite a bit of damage in the process.
