The crew's mysterious benefactor and curious basement-statue, Mistress Ask calls the crew together for a job that she is paying for directly. She wants the crew to steal a sparkcraft hand from the Lady Clara Devereux, a renowned by reclusive artisan who resides in a mansion in Six Towers. Lady Clara is famous for making incredibly intricate clockwork and sparkcraft devices, including prosthetics. The hand in question is supposedly one that the Lady herself uses when she does her craft. While she is rarely seen publicly, she's opening her manor to her very high-class potential clients in three night's time. Rowan, Cross, Jules, and Sable put on their best clothes, hire a carriage, and deftly talk their way into the party with forged invitations. Inside, they browse a number of high-priced sparkcraft items alongside high-priced patrons while surveying the place. At one point, Rowan is tagged by an off-duty Bluecoat and instructed to wait with the other bodyguards and escorts. Jules convinces one of the servants to give them a tour of the mansion, which eventually provides them with the location of the entrance to Lady Clara's workshop in the basement. Additionally, they discover in the main dining room that the Devereux's have entrapped the ghosts of their ancestors in paintings for a dozen generations, displaying them in their increasingly perverse madness for all to see. The crew once again opts for chaos. Sable sneaks into the dining room and frees at least four of the crazed Devereux ancestors, causing a panic amongst the guests. The crew uses the distraction to make their way to the workshop and bar the door. There they find the hand in question, hundreds of trapped ghosts and several liters of leviathan blood, a host of other sparkcraft in varying states of completeness, and a masterwork hull in the form of an adonis-like man. The crew collects as much loot as they can reasonably carry and Cross rigs the ghost traps to explode. The crew makes their way painfully out of the basement via a furnace chimney and steals away on a boat they left in the canal the night before to facilitate an escape. Sable covers the entire area in fog as the explosives detonate. Secondary explosions cause the entire mansion and likely several neighboring houses to go up in flames. The crew finds out later that another crew was in the house that night as well with plans for their own theft. The overall loss of life and damage was catastrophic and the crew begins to get a reputation for causing chaos and collateral damage. The crew is now wanted by the Bluecoats.
