GM: All right, so you all, in pursuit of this Professor Lancaster fellow, went to the administrative offices of Charter Hall University, which I will remind you is under the control and protection of the Glass Keys, your patrons. You snuck in, you found records about Lancaster, including his home, which is just an apartment in a brownstone here in Charter Hall. And while you were at it, you made off with a week of wages for the Charter Hall University, which came out to about 20 coin in silver. So that's obviously a huge, huge hall and obviously very dangerous for you to have done. Freakshow left behind some indication that perhaps it was the Reclaimer Circle who did the deed, but, you know, obviously you guys will have to be careful. You made it back out and you have made it back to your lair in the basement of the Ink and Anvil, where you can figure out what to do next. I assume you probably do not want to enter downtime; you probably want to keep going, right? Because it seems like this Lancaster stuff is pretty time-sensitive.

GM: That's correct. You did not make it to Lancaster's office, but you do have his home address.
---

*pokes at the pile of money* Guess we'll deal with this later. Our next stop is Lancaster's house.
---

We didn't get into Lancaster's(?) office but we have his home address now, right?

Cam shrugs
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:45:06 PM] Debinani**
GM: Basically with Lancaster, you know that he's got really no family. He stays in an apartment here. You've got his home address, a very unremarkable academic record, and then the gossip from the woman in the administrative building saying he was—there was an investigator asking about him, and then there were a couple of Iruvians asking about him.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:45:13 PM] Crow**
It might be preferable if he isn't home.

It's early. Let's case his residence.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:46:41 PM] Debinani**
GM: Oh, sure. I mean, it's over on the other side of the district, near the Alchemists' Quarter, but really close to sort of the university grounds. And you can take the tunnels over there and come out in an alleyway relatively nearby, within the same block of houses.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:46:48 PM] Cam**
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Do the maps give us anywhere close to come up?

GM: Okay, so you guys are going to kind of bundle back up, head back out the secret door into the sewers essentially, and make your way over there?
GM: Easy enough. Nothing particularly exciting happens in that slog. I mean, there are a lot of you and these, you know, basements and sewer tunnels and things like that. Oh, no, I think you guys just left her at the basement. She said that she can reach you pretty much anywhere in the city.
---

GM: Oh, yeah. Let's go ahead and because you are leaving your base, go ahead and pick your load, whatever you want your load to be for this trip. And you can reset your equipment polls from last time so you can uncheck anything that you checked.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:48:36 PM] Kristian**

GM: Yeah, reminder the load is set with the little backpack next to your photo.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:49:47 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay.
GM: Right. Yep. So you select your load and then you'll pull items from your load as you need.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:49:57 PM] Rob**
I think we pick the load now and that tells us how many items/equipment we can pick when the time comes.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:50:19 PM] Debinani**
GM: All right. It takes almost no time at all to hoof it through the undercity. You do pass through some areas where it's actually like legitimately built-over city, right? And there's like little shops and things like that here in the undercity, but it's very quiet. It's not very patrolled, and it's late. And you come out from a rusted old grate in a causeway and up a couple stairs and now you're back at the surface on the streets of Charter Hall. You're across the street in an alley across the street from the brownstones that Lancaster's apartment's in. And here you are.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:51:26 PM] Debinani**
GM: It's not abandoned, but I mean, it's late. Way up the street, you see a couple of bluecoats just kind of idly standing beneath a street lamp. Besides that, a couple passersby here and there. Cam, if you want to make a survey roll, go ahead.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:51:30 PM] Cam**
Cam scans the area
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:52:14 PM] Debinani**
GM: That's fine. Yes, anybody who wants to make a survey roll, or if you want to do a group survey roll, I'm more than happy to facilitate that.

They're not looking at you, you don't really know what they're looking at, they're kind of looking around, but there is somebody loitering. Doesn't scream cop, I'll give you that. It's just a kind of olive-skinned fellow hanging out between street lamps, kind of in a shadow, but you do see him. Guy's head's on a swivel. He's looking for someone or something.

Mutt, sure
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:55:44 PM] Debinani**
GM: So you all are clustered up in this alley across the street from the Brownstone. Bluecoats on one end of the road, some dude about half a block away on the other.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:56:30 PM] Debinani**
GM: The road you're on is pretty typical for most of Charter Hall. It's a set of kind of older brownstones. It's all very nice and clean. The ground floor is generally shops. You're on Alchemist Row, so it's alchemist shops, you know, some college-adjacent things, the equivalent of bodegas, you know, that sort of stuff, but a very, very quiet night. And then apartments over the top.

GM: There are no lights on in the windows of Lancaster's apartment.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:58:07 PM] Michelle**
You said dog's aren't too common, right? I'd set Mutt watching the other guy, but he'd have to keep out of sight.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:58:11 PM] Debinani**
Cam: Is there like a dog in the street?
GM: Dogs are not hugely common. I mean, there are dogs, but there's not a whole lot of them just kind of running around the streets at night.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:58:46 PM] Debinani**
GM: Exactly.
GM: You do need to get across the street to get to that row of brownstones, yeah.
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:58:48 PM] Rob**
Why do I get the feeling they'd be considered a delicacy...
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:58:58 PM] Michelle**
And we need to cross the street to get to this house?
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:59:36 PM] Rob**
Are the bluecoats watching the house or just standing around?
---
**[2/28/2026, 2:59:47 PM] Debinani**
GM: They look like they're just standing around. They're probably just the patrol for this street. I don't know, it probably might matter, this street is within the reclaimer circle territory, just so you're aware.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:00:05 PM] Michelle**
Anyone stealthy-stealthy today? Cam can keep watch.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:00:24 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, unfortunately, Watcher did not come with you and Watcher has the magic 'I don't take stress when we do group prowl rolls'.

I have a Prowl of "What's Prowl?"

---
**[2/28/2026, 3:01:17 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yep, anybody can take the lead for it. It's just whoever is the leader will take the stress for everybody who fails. So it's basically about who's taking the stress.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:01:25 PM] Pat**
anyone can take lead for that, though.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:01:31 PM] Pat**
just a question of who gets stress
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:01:34 PM] Jen**
I have one dot as well
---

I have zero dots prowl
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:02:05 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, I mean a couple of you have a non-zero or a material amount of stress, so you probably don't want to lead it.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:02:16 PM] Michelle**
So Cam keeps watch and the rest of you try some sneaking
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:02:36 PM] Debinani**
GM: Not really. But the bluecoats are quite a ways away. The Watcher is about halfway down the block. And there's really no way to get around, especially the guy watching if he truly is watching for anybody to come to the apartment. It's going to be really hard to get around him. Well, that happens. I mean, whoever—as far as the stress economy is concerned, it's whoever can take it. And then we'll just take—basically it's a group roll, so everybody will roll and we'll just take the best one.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:02:38 PM] Kristian**
I have stress and like no sneaky skillz, sorry.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:02:38 PM] Pat**
is there a way to use side streets to get past the watcher and the bluecoats?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:02:46 PM] Pat**
I'm thinking of a diversion.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:03:06 PM] Rob**
I have 1 Stress right now so I could lead it. But I also have 0 dots in it so I'm likely to add Stress to myself...
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:03:27 PM] Wolf**
(quiet) can you get Mutt do make some noise on the other side of him?

Cam nods
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:03:43 PM] Wolf**
(quiet) not a lot, just enough to distract him while we cross the street.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:03:51 PM] Random**
yeah, I'm carrying 5 stress. I'd prefer to not go into a high stress generating action. lol
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:03:58 PM] Wolf**
(quiet) Knock over something or something like that.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:04:03 PM] Michelle**
Or just walk by if dogs are largely a novelty
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:04:21 PM] Pat**
that might get too much attention.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:04:26 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay. So you just want him to go like running up the street and see if you can get the guy to look the other way? Or maybe he could run down this alley a little bit further down and like make some noise or bark or something. Okay. Okay, so you think to Mutt, you know, go down alley to street, bark, bark, bark, and we can do that. And then we're going to do the roll for you all to kind of Scooby-Doo sneak across the street while nobody's looking.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:04:27 PM] Kristian**
or someone could just walk up and shiv him lol
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:04:30 PM] Cam**
Cam looks at Mutt, giving him doggy distraction instructions
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:04:46 PM] Rob**
If the Reclaimers have seen Mutt that would draw the wrong sort of attention if it's one of them.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:05:00 PM] Rob**
Letting himself be seen clearly, that is.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:05:14 PM] Michelle**
Or circle around on our side of the street and bark at him before he sees him
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:05:14 PM] Pat**
If he could get past the guy, the ide would be to knock over a trashcan or something.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:05:33 PM] Michelle**
sure
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:05:36 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, so you think really hard at Mutt and Mutt goes, "Whoof, whoof, gonna get a treat, gonna get a treat," and he goes running down the alleyway. Who's going to lead the group roll?
GM: All righty. Everybody make a prowl roll. And you can—hold on one second. This will be risky with great effect because you have created a distraction. And so you hear down the other side of the block, the guy turns, and I mean he really turns, he turns and he walks down the block a little ways like trying to figure out where the dog's coming from.

**[2/28/2026, 3:08:40 PM] Pat**

---
**[2/28/2026, 3:08:42 PM] Cam**
(murmurs) That's not good.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:08:47 PM] Boo**
Boo mutters, 'that's not good'
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:08:49 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay. A small, cozy Charter Hall apartment. It's a sitting room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small kitchen. You know, very, very comfortable, could probably barely afford it on a professor's salary, but you all kind of crack open the door and file in. The place has been tossed, and there's, you know, books kind of strewn around and what for.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:08:53 PM] Wolf**
Wolf peeks in through the door.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:09:01 PM] Crow**
(murmurs) I'm sure it's fine. What could go wrong?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:09:29 PM] Boo**
Boo glares at Crow.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:09:42 PM] Nyx**
Nyx sighs
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:09:45 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, so Cam you kind of hang at the door or kind of take a look out the window because there's a window that looks down on the street, which is probably even better than staying at the door. And you all start taking a look around. I'm going to give you this one because this is a new game world and you really don't know what's possible, but your ghost echoes sight that you all have been given by Mistress Ash. You know, you can blink a couple times and sort of look back in time to like when the room wasn't trashed and maybe even if you make some attune rolls, look and see like who's doing what. Yeah, it basically gives everybody the ability to do it. But yeah, so you want to make an attune roll and kind of look back in time a little bit and see what happened in this joint?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:09:47 PM] Cam**
See if anything's left. I'll keep a watch on the street.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:09:57 PM] Cam**
Cam takes up a spot near the door
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:10:01 PM] Wolf**
Wolf starts searching the room.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:10:15 PM] Nyx**
Nyx heads towards the books and sifts through the pages.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:10:37 PM] Rob**
Which is what I was about to say I was going to use. :P Or rather, Attune if that's the same thing.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:11:06 PM] Debinani**
GM: The ghost echoes lets you look back in time and see like the structure of the place, but it's not—I mean, that's not hugely useful. Your fine spirit mask will actually add to your—it will add to your—you can either use it to reduce the risk or add to the effect.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:11:13 PM] Rob**
Crow will. Does a Fine Spirit Mask add anything?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:11:34 PM] Kristian**
if there is a comfy chair I can sit in while I attune myself I will do so
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:11:43 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay. So nobody's really here. I would say it's controlled and great effect for an attune roll. Anybody want to give him a hand or devil's bargain or anything to throw more dice?
GM: Okay, how are you assisting? Getting him a comfy chair that he can sit in while he's attuned? Controlled and great actually.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:11:47 PM] Rob**
I'll add to the effect.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:11:50 PM] Michelle**
Probably just have to turn the chair upright
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:12:04 PM] Crow**
Crow pulls down his spirit mask and looks around
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:12:20 PM] Kristian**
I can assist.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:12:25 PM] Rob**
Sorry, Controlled and Standard?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:12:44 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay. You help him attune, and I'll actually get to you in a second. So you take a stress, Freakshow, and Crow you get an extra die. It affects the outcome. It affects how successful you are.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:12:51 PM] Kristian**
can I just focus on him attuning while I attune? Or hold hands and chant seance style?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:12:56 PM] Rob**
And "Add to the effect" affects the outcome or does it add something to the roll?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:13:16 PM] Debinani**
Crow: Wow. What's your attune?
GM: Okay, well you get an extra die though. So go ahead and reroll that.

GM: Okay. So you find a comfy place to sit and you attune to the ghost field and you kind of zoom a little bit back and forth in time in this room. And I will get to you in just a second. So the rest of you, what are you all doing? Are you just kind of investigating this room or you spreading out around the apartment or who's doing what? Remember you could theoretically do a survey group roll if somebody wanted to do that or you could look at stuff individually.

searching the room.

**[2/28/2026, 3:16:09 PM] Debinani**

GM: Okay, so there is a—Wolf, you're going through and it looks like his desk was very thoroughly searched. And, but, and you know stuff kind of discarded off to the side, but you do find a letter that stands out to you. It says, "I'll meet you at the—I'll meet you at the—dude, sorry. I will meet you at Luminous Park on, you know, tomorrow." It's got the date and the time, "so we can discuss our sick relative," and it's signed, "your loving sister."

stepping away a sec, but still listening.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:19:31 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay. Crow, so you're kind of zooming back and forth a little bit. So you go back in time and you see a group of about five or six red sashes because you know they're from the Red Sashes gang because they're Iruvian and wearing red sashes and carrying their swords. And they are very, very haphazardly tossing the place. So you see them kind of going through and like pulling books down and tearing some things up and sifting through, throwing the mail around. Some are in the kitchen and some are in the bedroom. You go back a little bit further and you see a tall gentleman in a—he's not really wearing a uniform, but he screams cop. And he is very, very quietly, very deliberately going through the place. He pockets a couple of documents from the writing desk. He looks through the books, he looks under and around some things, but he kind of leaves the place fairly pristine. You don't really see what he does in the kitchen. And then you go back further and now you're probably in the span of days or weeks. It's very—it's hard for you to tell time really, but at some point in the last couple of weeks you get a sign—you see who you're assuming is Lancaster, you guys don't have a photo of him or anything. Sitting at his desk doing some writing. Somebody comes to the door and he answers the door, there's really no audio. He answers the door, you get a good look at the guy at the door, seems like a smarmy looking teenager, but you get kind of a good look at him. And the kid at the door hands Lancaster several looks like tins of tea and goes about his way. That's about everything you get. So red sashes showed up, tossed the place. Investigator fellow was here, very carefully looking at the place, took some stuff with him. Before that, you see who you're assuming is Lancaster take a delivery of tea from a courier.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:19:48 PM] Wolf**
Hmm.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:22:45 PM] Pat**
is it common to have pictures of family members or something?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:22:46 PM] Debinani**
GM: The investigator was the first one to search the place, yes, as far as you could tell. I mean, photography is very, very rare, so it's more common for people to have like drawings or pictures of family members.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:22:48 PM] Rob**
The Investigator was the first one to search the place, right?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:23:13 PM] Pat**

---

I'm also going to look for indications that he actually has a sister.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:23:25 PM] Rob**
I'll relay what Crow saw.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:23:28 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, so after you relay all that, Nix goes into the kitchen and pokes around a little bit. Nix, you do actually find—Wolf, you don't—there's nothing in this place that points to family. And his record from the school actually said he didn't really have any family. Nix, you go into the kitchen and poke around a little bit and there is a wastebasket and in the wastebasket there are two tins of tea and they're labeled with an herb. Actually they're labeled with an importer who has shops in night market.

---
**[2/28/2026, 3:24:57 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay. Nix sniffs the tea. These tins did not contain tea. You're not 100% sure what they had in them, but it certainly wasn't tea. One of them is definitely a reagent used in alchemy. You're not sure what the other one was. You'd have to probably study it to figure out what was actually in it.

Does the guy we saw watching the area look like any of the red sash dudes who tossed the place?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:26:14 PM] Debinani**
GM: Good question. Actually, yes he does. He was absolutely one of the red sashes that tossed the place.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:27:21 PM] Crow**
Huh. The guy we saw casing this place is one of the ones that tossed it earlier. Probably didn't find what they were looking for.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:27:30 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, so Nix is spending time in the kitchen, Boo is poking around in the bedroom, Cam is still acting as a lookout. Wolf's got the letter from the sister and you're also kind of sifting through the rest of the correspondence. Most of what's here is just like literal school papers and correspondence from the school, correspondence from other academics. Very, very benign. It's just the letter from the sister stood out to you because, you know, his record said he didn't have any family. Boo, the bedroom—I mean, the mattress has been cut open and searched through, the pillows have been cut open and searched through. The clothes in the closet or in the armoire were rifled through and some of them were tossed around. You don't see anything that makes you wonder. Of course, you failed that roll.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:29:31 PM] Debinani**
GM: Absolutely could be. Snappy dresser though. I mean, you know, he's got the whole professor thing going on. He's got the tweed blazers with the elbow patches and because he's a chemistry professor, some of them have little burn holes in them.
GM: Nothing going on out into the street, although you do see the lookout kind of come back from looking for Mutt.
---

any small pocketable trinket laying in the ruins?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:30:23 PM] Wolf**
When did you last see him here?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:30:23 PM] Debinani**
GM: Crow, you think that the place was tossed over the last 24 hours. And then, you know, you're probably in the span of days or weeks for the tea delivery.
GM: He has trinkets, there's a pair of cufflinks on his nightstand.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:30:40 PM] Wolf**
(to Crow)
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:31:07 PM] Boo**
Boo pockets the cuff links.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:31:10 PM] Crow**
Hard to say exactly. The delivery could've been within the last few days or last few weeks. All the other visitors happened today.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:31:23 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, within the last day or so. Ghost field's screwy. It's not—you can't really put your finger on time very well.
GM: By the by, the Red Sashes are a very, very large gang in Crow's Foot. They are based in a school of swordsmanship, Iruvian sword arts, that's in there. Many of their members are relatively wealthy and connected to Iruvian nobility and there are a great many of them. So you probably don't want to get on their bad side, especially since you're already at war with the Reclaimer Circle.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:31:29 PM] Michelle**

**[2/28/2026, 3:31:37 PM] Michelle**

**[2/28/2026, 3:32:04 PM] Wolf**
You didn't see him here after the place was searched?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:32:39 PM] Crow**
Nope. As far as I can tell he hasn't been here in the last day or so.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:32:50 PM] Wolf**

---
**[2/28/2026, 3:33:01 PM] Pat**
the date in the letter was tomorrow evening?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:33:21 PM] Debinani**
GM: The date in the letter was for tomorrow evening, yes, the 30th.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:33:26 PM] Crow**
The University said he hasn't been around for a while, either, so he might've gotten wind that someone was looking for him.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:33:59 PM] Wolf**
Hmm, this letter is allegedly from his sister, says to meet him tomorrow evening.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:34:04 PM] Nyx**
Nyx snacks on stale algae chips as she rummages around kitchen cabinets.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:34:30 PM] Debinani**
GM: And Nix, because you rolled so well on your tinker roll, I will also say that that reagent that was certainly in one of the tea containers, any use of it would produce some pretty noxious fumes. So, just FYI.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:35:08 PM] Michelle**
Did Nyx tell us about the tins?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:35:51 PM] Debinani**
GM: Freakshow, you look over just idly, you're kind of just scanning the room, and you look over and your ghost friend is standing in the corner. You kind of jerk a little bit. He smiles and shuffles a deck of cards in his hand, one-handed, and looks around the room. "This is interesting."
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:36:10 PM] Nyx**
Nyx wanders into the sitting room and takes out a tin, sticking it by Cam's nose.

Crow gives Freakshow a puzzled look
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:37:17 PM] Nyx**
It's rather noxious.

**[2/28/2026, 3:37:28 PM] Nyx**
Anyone want a sniff?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:37:29 PM] Debinani**
GM: So yeah, so Freakshow, your ghost friend, he's sort of been hanging around you a good percentage of your life. You call him Mr. Perkins. And he's just kind of always been there and helps you, occasionally has helped you out of a jam or to swindle people or definitely helps you with cards. He's kind of obsessed with cards.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:37:30 PM] Boo**

Maybe someone can identify the smell.
---

GM: There's almost certainly—I mean, if you can smell it, there's certainly traces left. You'd have to take it to a lab and play with it.
GM: Half and half. Always creepy, sometimes helpful. Usually he asks for things in return. Sometimes it's like something weird and simple like leaving a saucer of milk out or sometimes it's a little more severe than that, but.

Freakshow: Can I address him?
GM: Yes.
GM: Okay. So you resituate your mask and you see this fellow who essentially just looks like a card sharp, except for, you know, the ectoplasmic blue glow streaming off of him. Idly wandering around the bedroom, not, you know, sort of poking at little things here and there, poking at the mattress, poking at the stuff. Certainly doesn't look like your typical screaming crazy, you know, soul-sucking ghost. His back's to you. Because you did attune, you're perfectly capable of communicating with him if you want to.

Freakshow: Are those the clothes from the heist?
GM: No, they're actually quite—they're the clothes that you would see on any modern fellow. He straightens up and turns around and kind of cocks his head one side or the other and then squints and he comes up real, real, real close, like so close that the temperature around you drops because you're kind of in proximity to a ghost. He doesn't appear to be like threatening or anything like that. He's just sort of looking at you curiously and he kind of like leans over and squints and looks into your eyes and he's like, "Huh. Huh. Huh." He straightens back up and he's still got the deck of cards in one hand and he's just kind of idly one-handed shuffling it and cutting it and shuffling it and cutting it and shuffling it with one hand. And he turns back around and goes over to the wardrobe and pokes at just essentially a goat-hair blazer and says, "Interesting. Looks like your fellow spent some time in Six Towers. That stone dust on his cuff. It's the limestone they used when they built a lot of the homes in that district. Funny thing, huh?" He looks back at you, Freakshow, and he's like, he gestures to Crow, "Keep an eye on your friend there," and he fizzles away.

You guys will have to explain that to the rest of us later. If we've searched everything, let's get out of here.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:49:54 PM] Crow**
(to the others) Freakshow's friend noticed limestone dust on the blazer and speculated that Lancaster's spent time in Six Towers.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:49:59 PM] Debinani**
GM: Six Towers is a district, probably not the sort of place a boring college professor would hang out. It used to be a very, very wealthy district, but now it's largely abandoned, run-down, a lot of gang activity, a lot of squatters. It is not—the Red Sashes mostly claim a hunk of Crow's Foot as their territory.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:50:23 PM] Rob**
By any chance is it Red Sashes territory?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:50:40 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yes, if you were a university professor making something rather nasty, especially something that generated toxic fumes, you might want to do that someplace out of the way. I can throw up the map, but Six Towers isn't on it. I have the Charter Hall map. I wonder if I did an entire Duskwall map. I'll look while you guys discuss amongst yourselves. The map is too big. I cannot get the map onto the page.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:50:46 PM] Pat**
how about a university professor who's making something rather nasty?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:50:47 PM] Rob**
They have a lot of nerve claiming part of my foot...
---

Can you throw up our map?

---
**[2/28/2026, 3:51:32 PM] Crow**

---
**[2/28/2026, 3:51:55 PM] Crow**
Yeah, we should probably leave and make room for whomever is searching here next.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:51:57 PM] Debinani**
GM: Well, yeah, the Iruvian, the Red Sashes guy watching, casing the joint out you assume, has returned from his searching for barking dog quest and has retaken his position. You cannot see the bluecoats; they're just at too steep of an angle. So he's back in position. The stairways out of this apartment just kind of—it's just a little stairwell. There's apartment doors on both sides of the stairwell and it just goes down to street level. There's no windows in the back. The only windows are in the front facing the street because there's brownstones behind and to either side of this apartment.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:52:04 PM] Michelle**
Guess we need to stealth out of here?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:52:51 PM] Cam**
Our guest is back out there.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:53:10 PM] Cam**
Not sure if he'll fall for the same trick twice.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:53:42 PM] Crow**
Any way to draw the Bluecoats attention to him?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:53:44 PM] Wolf**
Let's make sure we don't leave anything behind that'll lead them to us.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:54:16 PM] Cam**
If he's just hanging around, they may not care.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:54:31 PM] Wolf**
And make certain he doesn't get a good look at us.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:55:03 PM] Pat**
is there any other way out of here?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:55:07 PM] Debinani**
GM: Nope, basically stairs down to the street and windows. Even like from a ghost echo standpoint, these brownstones were built like this. They've always been like this. There's no ghost echoes route through. Yeah, the windows look out the same side as the stairs. Rootop access? No. I mean, there's got to be like an attic space above this apartment, but you don't see any particular access to it.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:55:27 PM] Random**
is there rooftop access that we might travel over to another building or two?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:55:34 PM] Pat**
any windows facing away from this street?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:55:34 PM] Rob**
Do the windows look out on the same side as the stairs?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:55:38 PM] Michelle**
Kind of a fire hazard, aren't they? heh
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:56:16 PM] Michelle**
Can Cam try to smash a hole into that space?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:56:20 PM] Debinani**
GM: If you want to smash a hole in the ceiling of this apartment, you can certainly do that. It's like plaster lathing, so it's not going to be quiet. It's not like it's drywall.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:56:21 PM] Pat**
let's not burn down the city? :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:56:24 PM] Michelle**
Might be too loud :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:56:43 PM] Rob**
THe neighbors might hear.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:57:12 PM] Pat**
are there other apartments here?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:57:25 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, I mean there's a breezeway with the stairs. There's actually a door to the neighbor's apartment on that side and then you're assuming there's an apartment on the other side as well and probably even one behind. I've got the whole Duskwall map set up. I'll show it to you all if you care. It's a big map.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:58:20 PM] Debinani**
GM: It's about—let's call it about 3:00 AM. You guys are using little, very, very dim bioluminescent algae lamps to look around this place so that nobody can really see the light from the outside.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:58:28 PM] Pat**
what time is it?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:58:32 PM] Kristian**
of course we care!
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:59:28 PM] Debinani**
Wolf: Do we have a secret way in or out?
GM: Certainly no. No, there are—I mean this is Charter Hall. I mean there are electroplasmic streetlights at fairly decent intervals. Your boy is hiding in the shadows between two of them. Last you saw the bluecoats were having a cigarette beneath one, you know, a block and a half away.
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:59:31 PM] Pat**
I'm wondering...would it be too late for, say, a streetwalker to leave, for example?
---
**[2/28/2026, 3:59:33 PM] Rob**
Anything like streetlights around here or is it really dark out?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:00:20 PM] Debinani**
Crow: Can I go out dressed up as a girl?
GM: Sure. You're going to unbutton a couple buttons, tart yourself up a little bit? No, it's just inventory.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:00:23 PM] Pat**
ok, in that case, can I use a disguise kit to disguise myself as one?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:00:47 PM] Pat**
did we use a stress to do that, or just add it to my inv?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:01:11 PM] Wolf**
Wolf pulls out a kit and starts changing her appearance.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:01:20 PM] Wolf**
I'll distract him, give me a few minutes...
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:01:40 PM] Debinani**
GM: So the idea is that you're coming out of the apartment that's across the stairs. Okay, so you take a couple minutes, you know, put on some sort of street makeup, muss yourself up a little bit. Okay, and head down the stairs. What's next? I assume the rest of you are setting up to sneak across the street while she's doing this.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:01:56 PM] Pat**
yep
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:02:35 PM] Pat**
I'll plan a route to a nearby sewer entrance
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:02:41 PM] Debinani**
GM: Who besides Wolf is going to lead the move? You guys figure that out while I see what—so you're going to wander up to him and be distracting. All right, that would be sway. Yeah, I mean you guys are literally just like eight blocks away from the end. I'll just leave you at risky standard, yeah.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:02:43 PM] Rob**

**[2/28/2026, 4:21:26 PM] Nyx**
We can try the supplier first. Otherwise I can find a lab to use.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:21:27 PM] Debinani**
GM: The rendezvous at Luminous Park, which is a park specifically with a lot of—they call them radiant plants, bioluminescent plants in it. It is right there on the canal on the other side of the university and that is scheduled for tomorrow, a little after sunset. Luminous Park is in Charter Hall, it's right here if I can get the thing to make a blip. Yeah, sorry, later this same day, yes.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:22:42 PM] Rob**
When you say "tomorrow", do you mean tomorrow or later this same day since it's after 3am?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:22:43 PM] Michelle**
And where is the supplier?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:22:54 PM] Random**
a good box is a good box. so the tins current contents might not match up with the supplier mark.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:23:07 PM] Debinani**
GM: The importer is in Night Market near the rail station, just like a ton of other importers who get their goods via rail.
GM: He was local. I don't think any of you are Iruvian, right? I didn't think so. You're a bunch of Skovs and Akrosians, right? You picked Tykorosi.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:23:37 PM] Pat**
where was the professor from, again?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:23:57 PM] Rob**
Yeah, but an Iruvian gang and the supplier on the tins is Iruvian. Heck of a coincidence.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:24:35 PM] Michelle**
Tycheros :p
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:24:36 PM] Kristian**
Skovlan, rayciss!
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:24:39 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, and I didn't honestly, I didn't adapt them to Earth so who freaking knows. Yeah, not really.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:24:40 PM] Rob**
I didn't have any idea what the backgrounds were. :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:25:04 PM] Michelle**
Yeah, figured they weren't too relevant
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:25:22 PM] Rob**
Heritage: Unknown. Which is shorthand for the player shrugging.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:25:25 PM] Debinani**
GM: Well, the thing is that's a path to getting experience points too, right? Basically every experience point you get in this game is all based on roleplaying, using your skills, and occasionally doing something desperate. That's why having your vices and your heritage and things like that all fleshed out makes a lot of sense. So y'all should probably think about that so you have excuses to shake me down for experience points. You don't have to go with anything that's in the book, you could do Earth stuff too and we can talk it through.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:26:10 PM] Rob**
I'll have to give it some consideration.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:26:39 PM] Wolf**
I suggest we get some rest, then check out the meeting place tomorrow.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:26:49 PM] Boo**
works for m
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:26:50 PM] Boo**
e
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:27:28 PM] Rob**
What time is the meeting?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:27:30 PM] Michelle**
Play with our pile of money
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:28:12 PM] Pat**
just in case, I'll try to change my appearance a bit when we head out, trying to not look much like yesterday.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:28:12 PM] Rob**
Does anyone have any contacts that are familiar with Six Towers? If so we can reach out to them and see if there's word on the street that might indicate where Lancaster's lab is.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:28:57 PM] Pat**
not sure where my contact is situated :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:29:05 PM] Pat**
what kind of area was it again?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:29:08 PM] Kristian**
drug dealer maybe?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:30:17 PM] Pat**
Skovlan refugees?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:30:17 PM] Debinani**
GM: Most of the Skovlander refugees are in Silkshore, so other side of the city. Silkshore and the docks.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:30:34 PM] Pat**
right.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:31:23 PM] Debinani**
GM: So you want to check in with Brill, the drug dealer, and maybe see if he's heard anything? Maybe try to hunt them down during the day? Well, or very, very early in the morning? Or later in the afternoon?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:31:52 PM] Kristian**
THE DAY?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:31:57 PM] Kristian**
who calls their plug before 3pm
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:32:06 PM] Cam**
Cam dispatches a coded note to her friend Steiner, asking to meet up when convenient
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:32:08 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, you do. He actually—he deals in—your turf is a little more low rent than Charter Hall. He deals in Crow's Foot just over the canal and you sort of know where to find him and when he holds court. And that would be, you know, that would be afternoon into the evening.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:32:11 PM] Kristian**
I assume I probably know his hours.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:32:27 PM] Kristian**
and probably his "busy working" hours vs his "not asleep" hours
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:32:53 PM] Debinani**
Nix: Meet up when convenient?
GM: Okay. So yeah, you find a street urchin and send him off. Okay, cool.
GM: Well, we're not going to go into downtime and you're not going to be in a stupor anytime soon, I mean, unless you are. So everybody gets a little rest and you sleep well into the day, kind of scattered around the couches and making pallets on the floor instead of wherever you guys normally sleep. Most of you, frankly, considering how broke you are, are relatively homeless. You're basically crashing either on the streets or in flophouses or whatever. This is where your stash comes in. Once you've completed a row of stash, you have a certain level of operating wealth that you benefit from.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:33:12 PM] Michelle**
It's not relevant to Lancaster.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:33:23 PM] Kristian**
also flush with coin AND STRESS so maybe hitting up my dealer is well timed heh
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:33:52 PM] Michelle**
No time for de-stress, Dr Jones!
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:34:25 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, so plan for the day: get some rest and in the afternoon Freakshow's going to go off and find his dealer. Anything else?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:35:22 PM] Debinani**
GM: They're, you know, as long as you're not putting—they're contacts and you're not, you know, they'll help you out as long as they're not putting themselves way out. Probably wouldn't rat you out. Now, I mean if you went and said, "Hey, I've got 200 silver ingots in the basement of the Ink and Anvil," I mean this guy would probably sell you out. I mean, torture's torture, but, you know. They're probably—it would probably take torture or a lot of money.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:35:26 PM] Kristian**
so how "sly" are "sly friends"? Can we generally trust these people not to fuck us over/sell us out? Or do we still have to tapdance around shit?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:35:41 PM] Kristian**
I mean..for a drug dealer heh
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:35:50 PM] Kristian**
personally at risk..got it.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:35:57 PM] Kristian**
so like if the red sashes go lean on someone though
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:36:13 PM] Rob**
Oh, neat. I didn't realize the friends/enemies list was titled differently depending on the playbook.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:36:15 PM] Kristian**
pre-tortue
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:36:20 PM] Kristian**
it's not waterboarding if you use gasoline
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:36:27 PM] Debinani**
GM: And also you guys could just work the streets. I mean you could go to Six Towers and just start asking around and move some money around. I mean you could absolutely do that to try to hunt down the lab if the lab is there. But we'll try friends first.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:00 PM] Debinani**
GM: So y'all sleep and about mid-afternoon—I would say consort, I mean you're essentially working the streets and making friends and kissing babies and bribing.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:01 PM] Pat**
we could do different things?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:09 PM] Rob**
What would that be? Sway? Consort?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:26 PM] Rob**
Yeah, thought so. My no dots will stay home.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:29 PM] Pat**
ie, some could look around, try digging a bit, while Freakshow is talking to his contact
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:37 PM] Pat**
I'll try
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:37:48 PM] Debinani**
GM: Good. So about mid-afternoon both the gang spies leave the lair to go do spy stuff. Freakshow, you find Brill in his usual spot. He's, you know, running a fairly brisk business, but he has essentially street kids doing a lot of the actual running around and exchanging drugs for money. Moment he sees you his eyes light up because, you know, you're a customer. He's like, "Things are going fan-fucking-tastic! What do you need?"
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:38:40 PM] Kristian**
now we have entered horror steampunk The Wire
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:38:46 PM] Kristian**
Sheeeiiiiiit
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:38:55 PM] Freakshow**
Bryl mate. How are ya?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:39:07 PM] Kristian**
eyes light up like Mr Krabs
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:39:11 PM] Debinani**
Freakshow: It warms the cockles of my heart.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:39:20 PM] Freakshow**
Need? That makes it sound like I have a problem doesn't it?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:39:38 PM] Freakshow**
Well..I'll be back about me problem later..
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:39:44 PM] Freakshow**
Was hoping to pick your brain a bit
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:39:47 PM] Debinani**
GM: All right, pick away. At least whatever of it's left. If I can help you, I will.
GM: You wait until the street kids have scattered and are off doing their thing. Wolf, you can make a consort roll and you can add one die for every coin you are spreading around in bribes. Like the whole situation or you just trying to say, "Hey, have you heard of anybody new cooking in Six Towers?" Well, the party does though. I mean you can move money around.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:40:01 PM] Freakshow**
Without pryin' eyes about
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:40:19 PM] Kristian**
shifty eyes at the street kids who will DEFINITELY SELL HIM OUT
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:40:49 PM] Kristian**
can I just give him a basic rundown of the situation and see what he knows about the whole spiel?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:10 PM] Pat**
not as if I have a lot of coins... :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:13 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, I kind of figured, just like, "Hey. No, not the magic statue. I'm just—I didn't know if you were asking about people mysteriously getting blackmailed or anything like that. You just want to know if someone's cooking something in Six Towers."
GM: Yeah, there's a big pile of silver in the middle of the room.
GM: Actually, in this case, I don't think consort is actually going to work. I'm going to do what's called a fortune roll because it's completely freaking random whether this guy has heard anything. Your ability to consort with him is not going to help. Oh my god. Okay.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:16 PM] Kristian**
NO lol..I mean..the stuff we're pulling for info on 6 towers
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:26 PM] Kristian**
AND WE GOT A MAGIC STATUE BRO!
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:38 PM] Pat**
can I grab a coin or two from the stash?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:39 PM] Kristian**
yeah the gist
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:41:48 PM] Kristian**
is this a good "Consort" opportunity?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:42:04 PM] Michelle**
Don't spend more than we'll make off the job. lol
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:42:07 PM] Kristian**
oh perfect I am a fortune teller.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:42:20 PM] Debinani**
Fortune
Success
The result is good. You have standard or full effect.
6
1d6 = 6 = 6
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:42:20 PM] Debinani**
GM: So Wolf, you're going to make a consort roll and add dice for however many coin, however much coin you're spreading around? One coin. Okay.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:42:27 PM] Kristian**
I hope I pull the 6 7 of swords
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:42:51 PM] Wolf**
Cam, I am going to see if I can find something. Can I take a couple of coins to help me out?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:43:10 PM] Kristian**
lol...extemes for me again :/. "Oh yeah, that's Bob Jenkins he lives at this address and his home from this time and his family lives here and he drives a 2007 Altima with black rims and I'm pretty sure he has a wart on his dick.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:43:49 PM] Debinani**
Wolf: Yep.
GM: I'm just going to make Wolf spend all your money before I tell you what he knows.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:44:28 PM] Pat**
*laugh* Not doing it because of that great roll would be cheating :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:44:35 PM] Random**
my understanding of coins is a lot. a coupel of coins is a lot of a lot. maybe take a coin?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:44:38 PM] Cam**
Go ahead and take two... Just don't garner too much attention spreading it around.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:44:41 PM] Pat**
how big is the pile again?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:44:43 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, I mean, yeah, a coin is a sack of silver worth about one week's wages.
GM: Okay. So I'm going to pull one off the kitty that I haven't offered you guys up yet. So instead of 20, it's 19. Because that stuff's actually easy to move because it was actually designed to pay the professors of the college this week. And so it's very fungible.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:44:50 PM] Michelle**
20
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:45:05 PM] Wolf**
Consort
Risky | Standard
Failure
Things go badly. You suffer harm, a complication occurs, you end up in a desperate position, you lose this opportunity.
1 2
2d6 = 3 = 3
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:45:12 PM] Pat**
I took 1
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:45:17 PM] Michelle**
ok
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:45:19 PM] Pat**
should probably have taken 2, but... :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:45:21 PM] Kristian**
one week for who? Have you priced silver lately? ;)
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:45:37 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, so you, Wolf, go to Six Towers and you spread some money around and ask after, you know, "Hey, is somebody cooking something over here that smells really obnoxious?" You do not learn anything.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:46:15 PM] Debinani**
GM: However, I'm going to start a new clock for Lancaster Goes to Ground and I'm going to fill in two spots on it because he will get word that somebody's asking about his secret lab.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:46:25 PM] Random**
flashback, you decided to take 2 instead of just the one.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:46:58 PM] Debinani**
GM: Back to Brill. Brill says, "Hey, you know, actually one of the kids actually did tell me. There's an old carriage house on the north side of Six Towers. Every couple of weeks, you know, something venting from there will make everybody's eyes water. Didn't really even give it a thought until you mentioned it."
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:47:35 PM] Rob**
Flashback, Wolf decides not to ask around.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:47:35 PM] Debinani**
GM: Flashbacks cannot rewrite fiction, they can only add to the fiction.
GM: "I don't know what the schedule really is. They just say it's, you know, every couple of weeks." Yeah, he actually even gives you the street that this carriage house is on, the north side of Silkshore.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:47:43 PM] Pat**
not sure I can do that... :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:47:48 PM] Freakshow**
That happen on about the same schedule?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:47:55 PM] Freakshow**
Where people know they should steer clear?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:48:12 PM] Freakshow**
Alright. Locals might know
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:48:32 PM] Debinani**
Freakshow: I always have some for you.
GM: Okay. All right, so you spend, you both spend—actually, Freakshow only spends maybe an hour walking across the canal and asking some questions and coming back. Wolf, you're gone for a few hours. It is essentially dinner time, 7-ish. The meeting at the park is at 10.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:48:39 PM] Freakshow**
Appreciate it brother. I'll be coming back to see you soon, hold onto a bit of the good stuff for me if you please!
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:48:53 PM] Kristian**
liar lol
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:49:14 PM] Debinani**
GM: Wolf, when you come back, you come back across the river from Six Towers and you're coming down the Banner Road next to the wall. When you pass Third Street, you take a glance down Third Street because that's sort of where you guys operate. You all kind of claim a couple of blocks as your own where the Clerk Street typesetters are and a couple of other businesses that are essentially paying you guys protection money. And as you pass by, you see a not-small gang of folks who you absolutely recognize members of the Reclaimer Circle in them, and they are making their presence known essentially in your territory. They've probably spent the day shaking down some of the local merchants and folks in essentially your turf. They don't necessarily see you; you just catch sight of them as you're heading to the Ink and Anvil. And by not small, I mean probably about a dozen, about a dozen toughs. You are at war and they are going to make moves.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:50:46 PM] Wolf**
Wolf carefully, but quickly makes her way to the hideout.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:08 PM] Wolf**
Sooo, we might have a slight problem.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:12 PM] Crow**
Just one?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:16 PM] Boo**
Boo raises an eyebrow
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:20 PM] Cam**
What happened?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:22 PM] Wolf**
A dozen or so.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:29 PM] Wolf**
Throwing their weight around.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:40 PM] Wolf**
On our turf.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:51:59 PM] Cam**
Damn it. Not enough heat fast enough.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:52:06 PM] Boo**
this must be answered.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:52:45 PM] Crow**
Crow grumbles
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:52:53 PM] Cam**
Yeah. I need one or two of you to hang back and get ready to check out Lancaster.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:02 PM] Debinani**
Nix: How much of a gang are we?
GM: You guys are your entire gang. When you get upgrades, you may choose to hire cohorts, which are little gangs. But right now you are it. There are friendlies throughout your turf, you know, basically messenger scamps and whatnot, but that's about it.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:03 PM] Cam**
We can't miss this meet up.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:03 PM] Wolf**
I can do that.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:03 PM] Freakshow**
A public showing
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:13 PM] Wolf**
Not really that much of a fighter, so...
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:15 PM] Freakshow**
Almost like they came into a bunch of money right quick and are trying to capitalize on it.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:17 PM] Rob**
We're our entire gang?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:46 PM] Cam**
Everyone else, time to show these bastards what we've got.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:53:56 PM] Boo**
I've got a shadow friend that might come in handy for the Lancaster meet. I should probably be there.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:00 PM] Debinani**
GM: Okay, well that's where we will leave it for today. I can do the 21st, I'd probably prefer the 28th. Oh wait, hold on. Sorry, this is the 21st. I can do the 14th. We may not be able to do the 14th; we may have something that's not on the calendar yet. Okay, well I will throw something on the calendar for the 28th and I'll give you all a shout about opportunistically adding the 14th based on... crap.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:09 PM] Crow**
We're a bit short of a dozen or so...
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:27 PM] Rob**
I should be good for either.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:28 PM] Pat**
so fight smart. :P
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:29 PM] Cam**
21st is out for me
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:43 PM] Random**
I'm good for either.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:44 PM] Michelle**
28th should work
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:50 PM] Rob**
The Ides of March?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:54 PM] Michelle**
lol. thinking march
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:54:56 PM] Kristian**
one sec
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:55:12 PM] Michelle**
14th should be fine as long as my house doesn't fall over!
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:55:12 PM] Pat**
Looks good right now at least.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:55:20 PM] Kristian**
yeah 14th good
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:55:21 PM] Random**
I'm good for any of them.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:55:24 PM] Kristian**
srping break but avail

GM: Okay, so before everybody goes, experience points for the session. Go ahead and feel free to make your case. I believe there's a really good case for your crew to get two XP because you have executed successful espionage and theft operations. So I'm going to give the crew two experience points on the crew sheet.

**[2/28/2026, 4:55:56 PM] Pat**
do we get xp even if we failed?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:56:11 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yeah, you can get an XP for the diversion that failed. That's fine. That was a good use. It wasn't desperate. Freakshow, definitely an XP for using your drug dealer contact. Nix, definitely an XP for addressing a challenge with tinkering.

**[2/28/2026, 4:56:24 PM] Pat**
the diversion that I failed, do we get xp for stuff like that?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:56:31 PM] Rob**
Was that desperate?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:56:45 PM] Kristian**
Would say a 6-6 assist on the sneakery, plus the 6 on the fortune roll with contact would be good
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:56:58 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yes, you can put the XP in any of the four XP spots. No, you build XP up in those rows. Either the insight, prowess, resolve, or the special abilities. Addressing a challenge means that it means just that. There was a challenge and you addressed it. I absolutely would give you an XP because you used attune and gathered a shit-ton of intel by zooming back and forth in time. Cam, you dealt with the watcher with your Mutt. I think that's a logical addressing a challenge with very hunter-like or hound-like stuff. And I think all that really leaves is Boo, and Boo struggled with issues with her vice of pilfering stuff, so everybody can have an experience point.

**[2/28/2026, 4:57:03 PM] Pat**
we can put the xp where we want?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:57:10 PM] Kristian**
is there an XP bank on the sheet, or just use em right away
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:57:18 PM] Rob**
I am confused on what 'addressing a challenge' means.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:57:24 PM] Pat**
4? mmm, Special Ability is the 4th?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:58:01 PM] Rob**
Okay, that's what I was wondering about.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:58:05 PM] Kristian**
So do we get the dot when we fill the bar, or the last xp clears the bar and earsn the dot?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:59:06 PM] Random**
lol. yes, I stash one cuff link and keep one to drop as a diversion later if ever needed.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:59:07 PM] Debinani**
GM: No, no, no, the crew points are just for the crew. Those actually went on the crew character sheet. They do not go to you. When the crew XP goes up, you guys get to pick new abilities. I'm kind of waiting on that until we get to the next downtime. The way you guys are going, you guys are going to be like stress monsters and have a bunch of downtime and whatever. No, no, no, the crew character sheet got two XP, everybody else gets one XP.
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:59:19 PM] Kristian**
wait are crew points "we all get them" or is it just for the crew rank?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:59:22 PM] Freakshow**
latter, right?
---
**[2/28/2026, 4:59:31 PM] Kristian**

---
**[2/28/2026, 4:59:53 PM] Pat**

---
**[2/28/2026, 5:00:04 PM] Pat**
right
---
**[2/28/2026, 5:00:06 PM] Debinani**
GM: Yep, pretty much.
GM: All right. So I'll put something on the calendar for the 28th and I'll check on the 14th and let you guys know in the next 24 hours if we're in and see if that's an opportunity too. Hate to go a month. All right. Thanks everybody, fun time. Catch you later.

**[2/28/2026, 5:00:14 PM] Kristian**
crew got 2, we got 1. Think of "crew" like "the ship" from last game
---
**[2/28/2026, 5:00:23 PM] Kristian**
