The Watcher (sometimes called the Long Watcher) is a mostly nondescript man in his late forties, average in height and build, dressed in worn but serviceable clothing that doesn't strongly imply any purpose. His face is somewhat attractive but otherwise unremarkable in a way that makes it difficult to recall later, and his accent isn’t easily placed. He introduces himself only as “Watcher” and offers no given name. He’s spoken little, saying only that he works in the shadows and specializes in observation and study. The name “The Watcher” does circulate in street gossip as someone hired to gather information about places, people, or situations. He keeps to the edges of rooms when possible, speaks quietly, and carries a small notebook filled with tight, unfamiliar markings. He was referred for this job and has said this is his first time working with the crew.
